MORPC is working with nine Central Ohio counties to develop a transit coordinated plan for the ODOT Human Service Transportation Coordination Region 6 — the Regional Mobility Plan.
The Regional Mobility Plan will identify local transportation needs of people with disabilities, older adults, and those with low incomes. It will help to provide strategies for meeting those needs and prioritize transportation services and projects for funding and implementation.
Goals for the Regional Mobility Plan
• Identify community resources for transportation and mobility
• Understand the gaps and unmet needs within those resources
• Determine the approach to addressing those gaps and needs
Public Engagement Opportunities
To fully evaluate the needs and limitations of the region, the Regional Mobility Plan will require an extensive public engagement campaign. Due to the nature of the populace most typically served by human service transportation, the participation in planning activities must include participation and/or representation of older adults, individuals with disabilities, people with low incomes, public, private and non-profit transportation and human services providers, and other members of the general public.
Public Meetings
There will be four virtual public meetings announcing the work on the Regional Mobility Plan. Anyone within the MORPC’s 15-county area of interest is encouraged to attend an online presentation and question/comment opportunity.
• Tuesday, February 2, 12:30-1:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, February 2, 7-8 p.m.
• Thursday, February 4, 6-7 p.m.
• Wednesday, February 10, 12-1 p.m.
The Regional Mobility Plan is expected to be completed in October 2021.
