The public hearing on OSU’s proposed gas plant will be held remotely on Tuesday, June 30 at 6pm. Community members will give testimony by phone or video. This plant will create a demand for more fracking and will increase local air pollution in Columbus. More details to come!

The proposed facility would be located on 1.18 acres of University-owned land on the western side of the Columbus campus. The facility would have a nameplate capacity of 105.5 megawatts and would serve as a primary source of electricity and heating for the campus. The facility would primarily be housed within a 60-foot tall building, with cooling towers extending 27 feet above the roof. Two steel stacks would extend to a total height of 115 feet above the ground.

Adjudicatory Hearing: July 14, 2020, at 10am
