We invite you to join and support a powerful, community-led event

The People’s State of Our Schools: A Community-Led Town Hall on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM at the Maroon Culture Lab (formerly the Pythian Theatre).

For too long, decisions about our schools have been made without the voices of the families, educators, and neighborhoods most impacted. This gathering is an opportunity for us to come together, reflect on the history and impact of school closures in Columbus City Schools, and build momentum around a better path forward.

The program will include:

-A community-centered discussion on the state of our schools

-A short documentary highlighting the impact of school closures on the South Side

-A panel featuring local and national voices on community schools, moderated by Tareya Palmer of Columbus Can't Wait

-Clear ways to take action and get involved across neighborhoods

All are welcome!

This is more than an event—it’s a call to action. We hope you’ll join us and be part of shaping the future of our schools together.
