Sunday, October 11, 2pm, Gateway Film Center, South Campus Gateway, 1550 N. High St.

The ACLU of Ohio Foundation presents the Academy-Award winning “My Left Foot” in collaboration with the Puffin Collaborative Film Festival and VSA Ohio. The 1990 movie chronicles the extraordinary struggles and triumphs of Christy Brown, who was born with severe cerebral palsy and became a celebrated writer and painter. A riveting performance by actor Daniel Day-Lewis earned him his first Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of the artist born into poverty who, due to the congenital condition, had muscular command of little else but his left foot.
