Tuesday, June 23, 6:30-8:30pm, this on-line event requires advance registration
Black women are the backbone of our communities — they’re mothers, leaders, activists, elected officials, corporate executives, artists, storytellers, and so much more.
Yet, Black women and girls are more likely than any other racial or gender group to go unrecognized and unheard because of systemic racism and sexism. Because of real structural issues, such as higher rates of poverty, higher rates of incarceration, over-represented in low-wage, high-risk jobs, to healthcare barriers when accessing quality care, Black women and girls simply do not have the tools to realize and/or actualize their full potential.
How do we begin to reshape a new future for Black women and girls in which the social and economic realities of this country accommodate the pursuit of their dreams?
Join the Columbus African Council and other community partners for a conversation on the state of Black women and girls across the African Diaspora and how, as individuals and community leaders, we can set a course for a more prosperous future throughout the African Diaspora in Columbus.
Please RSVP by clicking “Going” on this Facebook page to let them know that you will be attending.
Hosted by Columbus African Council.
