Tuesday, February 15, 7pm, 7-9pm, Pure Joy Massage and Yoga, 6260 S. Sunbury Rd., Westerville, Ohio (wearing masks and keeping a proper distance) or you may join us via Zoom

Please note that due to Valentine’s Day, we will not be having our book group on the second Monday of the month. We will be meeting in February on Tuesday, February 15, at 7pm.

We know the benefits of being vegan and meditation. What we eat is just one of the ways we live our lives as a vegan. Mindfulness plays a big part in our daily choices. This book combines both being a vegan and mindfulness meditation. The Mindful Vegan lays out a 30-day plan for finding health, balance, peace, and happiness. It starts out with a one- minute meditation on day one and ends with a 30-minute meditation by day thirty. The book includes helpful hints, meditation instruction, and support on how to change our minds in order to change our brains.

It is available on Kindle and copies of the book can be purchased new or used. Since it has been out since 2017, it may be available at the library too.

“Are you ready to get to the roots of your challenges around food — whether it’s gratuitous snacking, compulsive or emotional eating, indulging cravings, overeating, or other disheartening habits? Be ready to get mindful.”

“Certified mindfulness meditation facilitator, award winning health educator, and longtime vegan advocate Lani Muelrath has been practicing mindfulness meditation for 25 years. In The Mindful Vegan, she teaches you how to practice mindfulness and shows how it can bring freedom and a new joy to your eating — and living — experience.”

“Backed by extensive research, with step-by- step instructions, personal stories, positivity, humor, and a handful of delicious recipes, The Mindful Vegan will help you emancipate yourself from the stranglehold that mindless and compulsive eating have on your weight, health, food choices, and, most of all, peace of mind.”

“With Lani’s guidance, you’ll learn the techniques of mindfulness meditation, opening the door to creating a more resilient vegan lifestyle. You’ll discover why eating in a way that lines up with your convictions about health, the environment, and ethics reduces stress and increases happiness.”

“You’ll learn to navigate conversations with others about eating — and living — vegan with greater clarity and equanimity.”
