A 13-year-old black boy was killed last night by cops in our city. The Columbus Police Department has refused to release the name of the police officer involved; and this murder follows two other murders of black folk in this city by our police force.

Despite its size, Columbus notably has one of the highest rates of officer-involved-shootings in the nation. Under no circumstances is this acceptable. Cops cannot play judge, jury, and executioner. No child deserves to die like this.

This will be a space for mourning and a community gathering.
