As the Third National Student Conference of the Palestine Solidarity Movement rapidly approaches, members of the Accommodations Committee are currently trying to determine how many students and activists we can offer low-income housing options to during the weekend of the conference.

Guests will be staying anytime from Friday night until Sunday afternoon, and will require space to sleep and safely store belongings.  If you are in the Columbus area and are willing to provide housing it will certainly be much appreciated!

Please provide all of the following information to Rachel Machesky at :

1. Your name, phone number, and street address

2. Number of guests that you can accommodate

3. Dates your space is available

4. Forms of transportation available to and from the campus area (e.g.    if you will be able to provide transportation for your guests, or    if nearby and easily accessible bus routes are running)

5. What guests may need to bring in order to sleep at their assigned    housing (i.e. how may beds are available, if guests will need    sleeping bags, pillows, towels, etc.)
Enter the world of Paul Krugman, a world either dark (the eras of Bush One and Bush Two) or bathed in light (when Bill was king). "What do you think of the French Revolution?" someone is supposed to have asked Chou En-Lai. "Too soon to tell," Chou laconically riposted. Krugman entertains no such prudence. Near the beginning of his collection of columns, "The Great Unraveling," Krugman looks back on Clinton-time. A throb enters his voice. He becomes a Hesiod, basking in the golden age.

In Washington, DC, it was a highly reenergized Anti-War Movement that rallied on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 25, 2003. Under a blue sky, with temperatures hovering in the mid-60s, they marched by the thousands. They demanded that all U.S. troops get out of Iraq and chanted slogans, like: "No more lies. Bush has got to go. Bring the troops home."

The route took the protesters from the Washington Monument, to north on 17th St., crossing H. St., near fabled Lafayette Square, (which sits in front of the White House), then down 15th Street to Pennsylvania Ave, while passing the Justice Department on their right, and the FBI Building on their left, to finish off on Constitution Ave., in front of "The Ellipse".

AUSTIN, Texas -- Holy smoke! I know hellzapoppin' with the news here lately, but let's try keeping our eye on the shell with the pea under it. Fascinating as all this inside-D.C. stuff is about Rummy and Cheney, and who leaked the CIA agent's name, there's some major stuff being buried in the business section.

The manipulation of mutual funds  -- nice, safe, comfortable old mutual funds -- is a story heating up nicely. In addition, if you are following the trial of Frank Quattrone in the nasty case of manipulating high-tech IPOs, you already have been whomperjawed over the goings on.

Add The New York Times Sunday account of how states and municipalities have been talked into bond issues by investment banking firms to cover pension costs, with highly unfortunate results, and you have a creepy and getting-creepier picture of the entire financial services industry.

We are asking that supporters worldwide write to the 10th Circuit of Appeals to urge that the Court grant a pardon to Leonard Peltier. The volume of letters received by the court will demonstrate the wide support for justice for Leonard Peltier.

Please do not attempt to contact the judges directly or interfere with the Court in any way.

Please be sure to demonstrate your knowledge of the intricacies of the case. Please also focus only on the substance of the appeal currently before the court.

Use the following sample letter as your guide. You may also cut and paste the text into your personal stationary.

Regarding the article by Harvey Wasserman and Bob Fitrakis - (freepress.org, October 21, 2003), some Republicans may be leaning towards fascism, but the majority of Democrats have been leaning towards socialism for many decades. Both are forms of statism that will ultimately destroy our inalienable rights and liberties.

The solution is to get rid of both philosophically bankrupt political parties' powers and invest in a new American political party that really recognizes the Constitution instead of paying it lip service while undermining and diminishing it.

For lack of a better name, I would call it, "The Jeffersonian Party."  It would outlaw subjective laws that tend to subvert individual and property rights, diminish and phase out government social-engineering agencies, phase out the taxation (and chokeholds on the creation of wealth) on individual income, and divest itself of the unConstitutional powers it has acquired over the past 100 years at the expense of individual rights, property rights and state rights.
Sirs,

I thought your recent article regarding the media coverage of Bush-Nazi connections was brilliant. Please continue to do what you are doing, we're all doing what we can to spread the word.

Regime change begins at home.

To Harvey Wasserman and Bob Fitrakis:

My exegesis on this story, responding to a Straight Dope article that didn't go far enough, is at http://www.romm.org/prescott.html .

The situation is worse than you make it seem.  In fact the Bush's, starting with Bert Walker in 1924,  had a very close relationship with the Nazi party and Nazi Germany.  Prescott has never fully answered for his association, and Bert's association with the Herrimans worked in his favor.

The relationship the Walker/Bush families had with the Nazis is strikingly parallel to the relationship the Bush family has with the bin Ladens today.  And both are being covered up.  The press is finally realizing the emperor has no clothes.  If Bush Sr. had dealt with this, no one would accuse W. of anything.  But the cover-up of family sins is starting to rise above the radar for many.  And this, to me, is a good thing.
