As concerned citizens, we urge our elected officials to protect international laws.

1. Support for S.Res. 68, a Senate resolution which says the U.S. should not occupy Gaza and displace its residents.

2. Support for Welch's S.5388 bill asking to restore UNRWA funding. UNRWA is an essential UN program built to support Palestinians in refugee camps as they work for their right to return to the land they were ethnically cleansed from in the Nakba.

3. Demanding full protection for healthcare workers and Institutions everywhere, ensuring they can provide lifesaving care without fear of attack, detention, or persecution.

Ohio Senate Minority Leader and out lesbian Sen. Nickie Antonio (D-Lakewood) has re-introduced the Ohio Fairness Act for the 12th time, despite waning support among Republican lawmakers.

The Fairness Act – which would extend equal civil rights protections to LGBTQ+ Ohioans – was formerly a bipartisan bill.

However, Antonio said the Trump administration’s focus on anti-transgender policy and rhetoric has helped set an increasingly anti-LGBTQ+ precedent at the Ohio Statehouse.

“We should already have equal rights in the state of Ohio, so it’s important to introduce legislation that calls for that,” Antonio said. “People from the LGBTQ+ community should already receive equal treatment under the law – and that means in employment, in housing and when traversing the public sphere.”

For states that are pursuing plans to build more wind and solar projects, the federal government has suddenly shifted from a powerful ally to a formidable opponent.

State leaders are still scrambling to make sense of President Donald Trump’s flurry of executive orders, funding freezes, agency directives and verbal threats about clean energy. It’s as if the teammate who had passed them the ball is now trying to block their shot.

The 50501 Movement is a coalition demanding justice, transparency, accountability, and an end to executive overreach. Despite being seen as leaderless, every individual, state, city, grassroots organization, and activist are leaders in this movement. Together, they guide us toward a future based on foundational principles. On February 5th we help mobilize over 20,000 like-minded individuals, activists, and organizations to stand against the harmful impacts of the current administration and Project 2025.

In truth, the 50501 Movement does not refer to an organization—it represents a vision, the American Dream, as we were all once taught to believe it. Each voice of this movement, peacefully united, forms a rallying cry and demand for the "American Dream" that we once all held close to our heart. A dream that we feel has prove

This is not just a movement—it is our modern-day civil rights struggle.

Food on a plate

I’m contemplating Slutty Vegan should open a North Campus location. I contemplated the lack of vegan options in my immediate neighborhood. Slutty Vegan is a vegan burger place in ATL, NY, TX, and Alabama.

I perused my immediate vegan options within a short walk. I remembered I love Ne’s Chinese Food. During Covid, Ne’s Chinese Food, 2620 N High St, Columbus, OH 43202, built stringed contraptions for no contact payment, and food reception. Ne’s was like San Rio made a cute scene in a Godzilla movie during Covid.

Ne’s veg options offers American Favorites, and Main menus. Ne’s sticks out because of the Eggplant Dishes.

I ordered Fried Potato, Eggplant, Green Peppers and rice. Big round eggplants, with small potatoes and slices of small green peppers are scrumptious. Other main favorites include Eggplant with Brown Sauce, and Home Style Tofu. I haven’t tried the Cumin Green Bean, or Cumin Fried tofu, yet.

In an ongoing policy of ethnic cleansing, Israeli authorities uproot fruit trees, raze farmland, destroy rainwater reservoirs and irrigation systems, and demolish homes. Meanwhile increasingly emboldened Israeli settlers — protected by soldiers — taunt families and vandalize property. The ultimate goal is to force Palestinians off the land. With the world’s attention diverted by the war on Gaza, displacement of West Bank Palestinians has increased dramatically in the past year.

Trump hugging Netanyahu

U.S. President Donald Trump is at it again. He made another bombastic Hamas last Monday threat to cancel the Israel-Hamas ceasefire and hostage release deal when he declared that if Hamas does not release all remaining hostages by noon on Saturday, the ceasefire should be canceled and the war in Gaza renewed.

To begin with, Trump has nothing to do with the ceasefire deal, even though he claimed credit for brokering the ceasefire. However, the deal was reached:

* Before Trump took office

* After more than year of negotiation.

* Heroic resistance by Palestinian factions.

* Gazans instance to rather die from bombs and starvation than leaving.

Netanyahu does not care about the hostages. He only cares about his coalition, staying in power, and not going to jail. He threatened war and his sidekick Trump irresponsibly followed suit. Trump was misled by Netanyahu that most of the hostages held in Gaza were dead.

Neither before or after Trump has taken office did he express interest about the safety and welfare of the hostages, whether they were Palestinians or Israeli or even Americans to that effect.
