Buildings and the word Overwhelming

A recent survey conducted by the Affordable Housing Alliance of Central Ohio (AHACO) claims a “supermajority” of residents support more housing in existing neighborhoods. The AHACO, a nonprofit, also stated, “NIMBY [Not In My Backyard] voices may be loud, they do not represent the vast majority of Central Ohioans.”

Even though it was titled, “Overwhelming: Central Ohio’s Housing Survey,” the AHACO says only 1,357 Central Ohio residents took the survey, meaning their so-called “supermajority” is representative of 0.050 percent of the region’s population. The AHACO is financially supported by Huntington Bank, Mortgage Bank Association, The Columbus Foundation, Homeport, National Church Residences, Wynn Developers, among others.

The AHACO says their survey, “Is the most comprehensive research to-date on how residents really feel about policies that create more housing options and lower the cost of owning or renting a home.”

“The United States may need to restart explosive nuclear weapons testing,” declared Robert Peters, research fellow for nuclear deterrence and missile defense at The Heritage Foundation, the right-wing organization close to the Trump administration, in a lengthy report last month. Issued on January 15, it was titled: “America Must Prepare to Test Nuclear Weapons.”

Peters stated that “the President may order the above-ground testing of a nuclear weapon….And while the United States leaving the [Nuclear] Test Ban Treaty may not be optimal and may indeed have negative downstream effects, doing so may be necessary to stave off further adversary escalation.”

There has not been a nuclear weapon tested above-ground in the United States since 1962, Peters said. That was a year before the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty of 1963 was signed by the U.S., Soviet Union and United Kingdom. It prohibits nuclear weapons tests in the atmosphere, underwater or in outer space. It allowed underground tests as long as they didn’t result in “radioactive debris to be present outside the territorial limits of the state under whose jurisdiction or control” the test was conducted.

Gitmo, of course!! It’s the freest place “we” have – by which I mean the American government, a.k.a. Donald Trump. No rules apply there, be they international humanitarian law or the U.S. Constitution. It’s a dumping ground, a black hole.

It’s the most secure place for America to hold, as Trump put it a few weeks ago, “the worst criminal illegal aliens threatening the American people. Some of them are so bad we don’t even trust their countries to hold them because we don’t want them coming back.”

We start GREEP Zoom #211 with “Resistance” from our Poet Laureate MIMI GERMAN.

We then welcome the great GREG PALAST for a full-bore excursion into how the massive Jim Crow disenfranchisement of millions of Americans put Donald Trump back in the White House.

Palast warns that “your ballot will be rejected” at an astronomical rate if you are a person of color, meaning the 2024 vote count was heavily coded by color to pull off the soul-killing death-of-American-democracy coup now in poisoned progress.

Palast’s VIGILANTES INC. is at www.gregpalast.com & is a must-see for anyone concerned about the preservation of what’s left of American Constitutional freedom.

We also hear from the uniquely power election protection audit expert RAY LUTZ, and from Greg’s associate PATRICE GALLAGHER.

Greg. Patrice & Ray are joined for clarifying comments from NATHAN TAYLOR, PAUL NEWMAN, HEDY TRIPP, CD BUCKLEY, JOHN SEELEY, MICHAEL MCMILLAN, LYNN FEINERMAN, JULIE WEINER, MICKI LEADER, ERINNE ROCHELLE, NICOLE UNG, BARBARA WRIGHT & other truly wonderful Greepster participants.

Sit in protest

Seven protesters were escorted out of the office of Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne on Tuesday. They staged a sit-in action to demand Ronayne decline to renew the County's investment in Israel Bonds on March 1st. The protesters also demanded that the County Executive schedule a meeting with representatives of the Cleveland Palestine Advocacy Community (CPAC) before the reinvestment deadline of March 1st.

Members of the Cleveland Palestine Advocacy community, a coalition of over 10 organizations championing Palestinian rights in Northeast Ohio, have been asking for a meeting with Ronayne for a year. Ronayne has refused to meet with them.

The protesters were seated arm-in-arm for over 30 minutes waiting for County Executive Ronayne who never showed up.

As they were escorted from the room the protesters chanted, "Divest, divest, we will not stop, we will not rest.

"A year of combat"—this is how Israel's new Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, described 2025 at a conference organized by the Israeli ministry of defense.

Nurse and patient

Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio (PPGOH) has finally unionized after a card count in which 65 percent of eligible employees voted to unionize on Thursday, February 7, 2025.

After the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS), which is a government agency that helps mediate and resolve labor-management disputes, confirmed that the cards were authentic and had 65 percent support, leadership voluntarily recognized that the union had unequivocally garnered overwhelming support, clearly more than the majority that was needed, according to Olivia Oney, Regional Field Manager of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio.
