The Granville Inn, located in the quaint Columbus outlier of Granville, and their chef, Chad Lavley, knows exactly how to serve vegans, and anyone looking for a healthy, delicious, satisfying and sustainable meal. The “Good Good Salad” on their tavern menu was loaded with nutrient dense, omega-rich, “brain food” in the form of; baby spinach and kale with quinoa, apples and blueberries tossed with carrot, red onion and sprouts (Yes! SPROUTS! THANK YOU!) in a pomegranate vinaigrette and topped with toasted chia and hemp seeds.

There were several other vegan options readily identifiable and available on the menu, and the staff was very accommodating on special requests. The only glitch in the nearly perfect 5-star, full-service, vegan menu (from bread to dessert) is that the tantalizingly unique turmeric bread pudding, contains honey. I requested they consider shifting to Ohio maple syrup.
In May, the vegan community has several exciting opportunities to educate and empower socially just behavioral consistency with special guest speaker: Dr. Casey Taft, Founder of Vegan Publishers and Boston University Professor, presenting on “Negotiating Life as a Vegan Advocate” on Tuesday, May 2, 7:00pm at the Ross Auditorium at Franklin University, 301 E. Rich St. Columbus. Lemongrass, Paulie Gee's and The Guild House are donating food to the Dr. Casey Taft presentation on Tuesday.
